Planning to use while traveling for wind and rain protection. Will add eyelet breathing holes under the armhole. Loose enough to wear over jackets.
This jacket is perfect for drizzly days. It's really lightweight but keeps me dry, and the hood is a good size. So I'll purchase another and have a spare, great price and quality.
__Having a lightweight longer jacket for wet weather to keep handy in the car was my goal. The multi sizing of this lets it go over fleece pullover or a tank top, so it's perfectly flexible. The multi size is also nice for an application like mine, where it might be me or a family member using this in a pinch. __The longer length is nice for keeping more of you dry without restricting your stride when walking. __The fabric feels durable and repelled water nicely when I checked it with the shower spray (no I didn't wear it in the shower LOL--just testing the fabric). The fabric has a checkered look (see photo). __Having a hood that is concealed in the collar when not needed is a great advantage: When you need a hood it's there, but otherwise it is not in the way. Think about having to be out changing a tire in the rain, or being out on a windy day: Times like those are when the hood is really handy. __There is a downside here, but there might be a work around for it. The problem is the bottom sleeve edge. It has an elastic string that is controlled by a cord lock. See photo. The good thing is that you can use it to adjust the tightness when ever you like and it will stay put (locked). The problem is the excess elastic forms a large loop on your wrist, and that loop can catch on something (door levers, car turn signal levers, etc) as you go about your business. Possibly I can tie/wind/stitch or pin the excess to the side of the cord lock, or maybe tuck it inside the tunnel where the rest of the elastic goes, but I haven't worked that out quite yet. Just expect to either live with that or make some adjustment to it. __The pockets are decent size--your whole hand fits easily. __There are Velcro-like patches on the inside zipper allowance, so you can either zip this jacket closed, or use some of the patches to close over certain areas, or you can use both the zippers and the 'Velcro'. __4. 5 stars because I think I can deal with the elastic loop somehow. __I do hope this review helped you in some way. Did it?
